What ended up happening with the camera? What was the fix?

Since the compressor does not run continuously, you are only using wattage when the compressor is running. My compressor came on maybe two to three times an hour for 5 mins at a time so I was not using 45w an hour. It was more like 45w for 15 minutes of an hour, that includes all three times it may have came on. I was using it in Eco mode the whole trip because I pre-cooled it while in the house.

I won't have this problem since I'm doing it the right way by having Tesla install my hitch with the software update

I really hope we start seeing 120v - 15 or 20amp circuits in the front/back of all electric SUVs/Trucks. Having it with the lightning, I don't think I could do without it. The 12v fridges are really cool though! I'm looking for one that will fit good in the lightning frunk.

Unfortunately the one command I want to use isn’t supported by my 2024 Model Y. It works on every other Tesla, just not the highest selling Tesla model.

How does the air flow work when the fridge is fully enclosed? Or does it use some different way to cool than a standard fridge. With a small adapter or power supply this could work anywhere. Pretty cool.

No one ever talks about how to turn off the hatchback light on the model Y while you're trying to sleep. I've seen people use a metal rod to "fake" the hatchback locking, but what do you do?

Do it yourself? You don’t have to cover the entire car. But at the same time, don’t buy the garbage that you’re gonna find. You actually have to do a little research. Well, really you don’t make sure you’re getting 3M Pro. Not the regular 3M PPF. And just like anything else, the devil is in the details. Prep prep prep. The surface needs to be clean clean You need to have somewhere you can work out of the direct sunlight and you don’t want a bunch of dust. This could be in a garage. I would wet the floor with a garden hose cut down on dust and contaminants. XPEL Also makes a decent PPF. Either way prep is everything. You don’t get a good paint job on a car if the prep is not done correctly same thing, That’s why when you look at a new car, let’s say a brand new GMC anything pick any Model high-end or low look at the paint it all has orange peel. If you don’t know what that is, then don’t attempt applying this film. If you wanna know, look at an orange and look at the paint, that’ll pretty much explain why it looks like orange peel. Yes, you can wet sand it and Buff it I got off track there a little bit anyway applying the PPF is not too difficult, Take your time and prep prep prep.

Interesting information. I bought the Y to be able to tow a light 14' travel trailer knowing it would destroy range. Not tried it yet, but not looking forward to disconnect, charge, reconnect, repeatedly. Energy use per mile increases with the speed squared, so differences in speed make a significant difference.

when you said "it takes many many applications in order to correct and permanently correct the pH level" do you mean use the wipe each time get car wash or on a daily basis sort of practice? How long do i have to use until it stays 'permanently' long enough to not use the wipes again? And thank you for the solution i was worried!

What tires you were using on that snow storm

I like that security feature. It seemed to tighten the rack into the receiver and the videos looked like the rack was very stable. I have a Thule rack which works very well but seems a little 'wobbly' in use.

I was able to feed six out of the seven clips. The right side of the back area is too tight and it doesn't allow me to put that clip. Anybody else had the same issue?

Much prefer inside window shades only, in case I need to see what's happening outside if something goes bump in the night without opening a window to move the shade, not to mention if it's pouring and time to drive, open windows and bring in soaking wet shades? A bungee or cordage to tie front wheel to downtube will keep that rotational fork movement at bay.

It’s not built by Tesla, it’s built by Yakima. Can reduce the weight of your e-bike a lot by removing the battery, that’s what I do 😄

A frame adapter would be a better option. It would keep you from taking a tire off and keep the bike more behind the car instead of sticking out.

The max weight for this rack is listed at 40lb. Is your e-bike heavier than that?

I’d love to do this test with my 1UP USA rack and Transition Patrol. I just wish Tesla would release a “bike rack” mode that required a confirmation to open the hatch because that terrifies me. haha

Good feedback! Thanks for this. I did the same last year for a long trip on highway and my results were 280Wh/km while normal consumption same trip without is roughly 220. It’s around 30% more. Speed limit was 120/130 km/h or 74 miles/h approximately but here in France et close to my house it’s mountain like so flat roads as yours 😊

Dude, its probably a compressor thermal overload or something. honestly, this could happen with any hvac system that uses compressor overloads. Its not "tesla quality" Troubleshooting isnt going into service mode and looking at the code. Troubleshooting is getting a multimeter and checking resistance on compressor windings etc... Something to know about hvac is that, they make money on replacing everything, you can save a lot with common knowledge.

A question for those using ABRP. After you plan a long trip using ABRP, what method do you use to transfer that info to the Tesla trip planning system on the tesla screen? Do you manually enter the enter the route into the Tesla system or will ABRP automatically send all that info to the Tesla navigation system?

Dumb question but what stops John Doe from doing that to my Tesla when it's parked and taking whatever's in the frunk?

Couple problems though. One, you didn't show a 9v little battery actually open a fronk legitimately on camera, which in most cases doesn't actually work when their 12v car battery is completely dead. Then second, once they open the fronk, you didn't mention they would need a jump pack or jumper cables, and show proper jumper hook ups, to actually jump start the car at the 12v battery. But also in some cases, that quick jump doesn't work for long on that once dead 12v battery and then the car starts to shut down on them again in the middle of travel to a charger station or service station and they are gonna be calling for a tow or tesla service reps to come out with a new battery and computer to reset the car's computer. Just looking out man, bringing you more information.
